Is the Google Calendar integration live yet?

Not yet. Google is reviewing the read-only calendar permission. Outlook calendars work today. When Google approves it, you will add it from Settings → Integrations → Add Google Calendar. Ember will only read events and attendees. It does not write events or send a note before the meeting.

What will Ember use my calendar for?

To name the people on calls Ember already captured, using the invite roster. Unique emails become contacts. Ember does not time a nudge before the meeting.

Will Ember put events on my calendar or change existing ones?

No. Ember only reads your calendar. Your events stay exactly as you made them.

Does Ember import every calendar meeting as its own record?

No. Ember overlays attendees onto Capture rows it already stored. Calendar is identity for those calls, not a second meeting list.

Ember + Google Calendar

Names and emails from your calendar onto the calls Ember already captured.

Add Google Calendar to your Gmail connection and Ember reads the attendees of events on your own calendar, then overlays them onto stored Capture rows. Unique emails become contacts. Ember does not import a second meeting list, write events, or send a note before a meeting.

How does the connection work?

1In Settings → Integrations, choose Add Google Calendar on your Gmail account and approve read-only access to events on calendars you own.
2Ember lists events around each unnamed capture and matches a unique time window.
3Attendees overlay onto that Capture row. Unique emails attach or create contacts. Spoken first names that match more than one person stay unmatched.
4Outlook does the same from the mailbox token with Calendars.Read.

Why does this connection matter?

A recording often hears first names and nothing else. The invite already has the email. Overlaying that roster is how Ember stops asking you to assign people by hand.

Ember does not put events on your calendar and does not import Zoom or Meet history as a second meeting store.
